FANTASTIC is an understatement

Just put a camper in the area for a seasonal stay and we decided to eat dinner here on a Friday night. FANTASTIC is an understatement, we ate about 5:30, they got us seated immediately and got us drinks. I had a seafood platter and it was wonderful. The flounder was my favorite. The atmosphere is a little dated; however, my wife and I grew up going to places exactly the same, so we both like the local mom and pops. It’s clean, prices are reasonable, food, and service is good. What else could you want? Go!

Wanted To Eat Here For Years…

I had wanted to eat here for years, but they were always packed. Well, the weekend that CV19 mandated folks to stay home, we were travelling the hills of NC and enjoying the solitude. My family and I happened to swing by on our way back down the mountain and we noticed they were open and there was a very lite crowd. We took advantage of the opportunity and made our first visit to Mountain Aire Seafood and Steaks. We have eaten there numerous times since. We’ve had the breakfast buffet, we’ve had several Saturday evening meals…. basically anytime we can stop in, we do. This is a chain of 1. Where I live, we only have restaurants like this in our memories as everything has become “fancified” and a chain. Great food, great service! I love the salad bar. I especially love the fact that they treat us like family, every time we get to be there! If you are in the area, DO NOT miss the opportunity to eat with the fine folks! If you’re as far away as Charlotte, it’s worth the trip just to eat supper. A#1

Best little buffet breakfast in WJ!

Best little buffet breakfast in WJ! Who knew that an establishment with the word “seafood” in the name could have such a good breakfast? We have gone three Saturday mornings in a row. 😳😜 Want pancakes in addition to all that is on the breakfast buffet? Just tell the waiter and voila! Hot pancakes are delivered to your table.

We are from out of town and we absolutely love this restaurant and the people who work there and own it. You can’t get better service or food than this place! If you are anywhere near this restaurant, you owe it to yourself to stop by and try it out!

We had a group of ten…

We had a group of ten and were seated immediately upon arrival. The salad bar was very fresh and clean with ample choices. I ordered the beef tips that were very tender. I do not think anyone in our group could eat all of their food due to the large portion size, thats not a complaint its a compliment. The price was very fair. The restaurant is able to sit large groups, a group of more than 20 came in after us. We will return.

great value for the price

The steak was cooked to perfection and great value for the price. The two ladies running the place were awesome, very friendly and attentive. The chef makes her own “cocktail sauce” from tomatoes and horseradish…it was so good we finished the bottle on our table and took some home in a to-go cup 🙂

Another great meal….

A great place to have a good meal. I had calabash shrimp and my husband had the trout. As usual all was delicious and you know that is why it is a favorite with locals. Come casual and enjoy good cooking. The owner is always. there to greet you and the ladies are pleasant and accommodating. Good food at a reasonable price. Their hush puppies are the best anywhere!

Great Food, HUGE Portions, Awesome Service

I have lived in Ashe County (Fleetwood) for several years and I just had dinner at the Mountain Aire for the first time. I really loved it. The food was great, they serve you HUGE portions and the service was awesome. Wanna send a special THANK YOU to Candice my server. As I shared with you, I will bring the whole family back next time.

an absolute gem!

This place is an absolute gem! The food is delicious. My partner and I both got the house New York strip and it was honestly some of the best steak we’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth good. We took our leftovers and heated it up on the grill – almost as yummy as it was at the restaurant!! For the cheap prices they give you HUGE portions too! Our server was extremely sweet and attentive as well. All the staff seemed very kind and had a smile on their face. An all over amazing experience and we will be returning often!

Come for the food

Come for the food, stay for the hospitality and the scenery. I enjoy driving and finding new places. The Mountain Aire Seafood and Steaks Restaurant proved to be a welcome surprise with its excellent choices in seafood. I ordered the salt and pepper catfish with fries and sweet tea. The catfish was super tasty and the crust was unbelievably crunchy with the perfect blend of herbs and spices. The fries and tea rounded out my meal and my check was very reasonable. Needless to say my dog Bruster was happy to see the doggie bag.
As I paid my bill, the owner made some hiking suggestions so I took off sightseeing on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
